She was born May 25, 1965 in Lebanon, KY one of seven children to the late Francis A. and Dorothy Whitehouse Raley. Gary Metcalf, her husband; Pamela Raley, her sister; James Raley her brother, precedes her in death along with Anthony Dale, and three sisters-in-law.
Karen was a former employee of Metropolitan Lincoln-Mercury for over 20 years and Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, St. Matthews and East Louisville locations for over 16 years. She was a caller at Jeffersontown Bingo, an avid bunco player and was strong in her faith.
Karen was one of the most selfless individuals you could know, always placing everyone else’s wants and needs above her own. She enjoyed being around family and friends and traveling to Panama City Beach for their annual trip. Her true passion in life was being a “Nanny” to her grandchildren, worshipping the ground they walked on, giving them all her love and attention and creating memories to last a lifetime.
Karen is survived by her four children, Abeni Raley, Jessica Raley, Marissa Lucey and Ian Raley; grandbabies, Olivia, Amelia, Adam, Jayden, Adalynn, Nova, Brendon, Enola, Elly, Masen and Preston. She is also survived by her siblings, Franky, Sandy (Jan), Donnie and Scotty Raley (Patty); several nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.
