Junior Emerson passed Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his home in Casey County. He was 79.
Born July 10, 1935 in Casey County, KY, he is the son of the late Granville and Dessie Marples Emerson. He retired from Valspar Paint Company in Indianapolis, Indiana and was an Air Force veteran. Junior enjoyed being outside, he loved hunting, fishing, and mowing the grass.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Patricia Carol Atwood Emerson of Liberty; son; Rusty (and Brittany) Emerson of Liberty; 3 daughters, Reda King of Liberty, Susan (and Terry) Wilson of Liberty, Lisa (and Joey) Hoover of Jamestown; 2 step-sons, David Wethington of Liberty and John (and Crystal) Wethington of Indianapolis, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Harold Emerson of Pittsboro, Indiana and Oliver Emerson of Indianapolis, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jesse, Curtis, Morris, and J.L. Emerson; and 5 sisters, Julia Thomas, Aletha Land, Mabel Ruscher, Opal Murphy and Myrtle Emerson.
Funeral services are 7:00 P.M. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Military honors will follow the funeral service.
Visitation is Thursday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
