He is also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Sidney (Butch) Thomas.
Julian had a passion for the aggregate stone business and followed in his father’s footsteps opening Mississippi Stone, Inc. He continued his journey and lifelong dream of managing many quarry/mining operations, winning multiple entrance beautification and safety awards. He loved golf, hunting, antiquing, and spending time with family and his grandchildren.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ann M. McLellan; daughter, Laura Williams (John) of Bowling Green, KY; son Paul Fratus (Suzan) of Bowling Green, KY; five grandchildren, Nathan Williams, Samuel Williams, Trevor Fratus, Izabella Fratus, Colin Fratus; Sister, Jane Thomas Smith (Billy Ray) of Bowling Green, KY; niece and nephews, Lee Thomas (Brande), Mark Thomas (Tracy), Beth Alagna (AJ); great nieces and nephews, Libby Claire Thomas, Annabelle Thomas, Sydney Thomas, William Thomas, Kane Alagna; two caregivers, Kathy Cherry and Marty Kurjak, who took such great care of Julian and the family in their time of need.
Services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 27, 2015, at First Baptist Church with additional visitation on Saturday from 10:00 am to the time of service at 11:00 am. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
