Mr. Joseph Fabian "Buddy" Abell, age 83 of Lebanon, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY. He was born on March 8, 1932 in Marion County, KY. Mr. Abell was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was also a lifelong member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lawrence and Theresa Althaire Beaven Abell; three sisters, Martha Smith, Mary Elizabeth Mattingly and Hazel Parlett.
Survivors include brother, James Lawrence Abell, Jr., of Greensburg, KY; sister, Cecelia Sebik, of Wilmington, N.C. Also surviving are twenty-nine nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, celebrated by Rev. Emil Kander. Interment to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery. The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting military honors.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday at Bosley Funeral Home and will continue until 10:30 a.m. at which time Mass preparations will begin.
