John David (J.D.) King age 88 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Cumberland County Hospital.
J.D. was born on September 10, 1926 in Clay County, Tennessee to the late Wayne Roy and Clio Ford King. He was an alumni of Tennessee Technological University, and was employed by the Farmers Home Administration from 1968 until his retirement in 1986. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Norris King, three brothers, Fred King, Loys King, Clyde King, two sisters, Olene Upchurch and Ailene Strong, and his son-in-law, Mike Glidewell.
Survivors Include:
Two Daughters- Beverly King of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Kim King of Burkesville, KY
One Son- Mark King of Burkesville, KY
Two Sisters- Martha Lee Brown of Cookeville, TN, and Inell Hicks of Rock Hills, SC
8 Grandchildren- Kelly Hughes, Ben Mings, Johanna King, Nikki Anderson, David Harris, Ethan Glidewell, Alanna Bagwell, Emily Glidewell.
9 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral Service:
Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Tim Struthers officiating. Burial will be in Marrowbone Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.
