John David Barr, Sr, 76, of Jamestown, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hopsital in Somerset. He was born January 29, 1939 in Payneville, Ky to the late George Henry & Mayme Kerrick Barr. He was a retired civil engineer and a member of Holy Spirit Catholic church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Johnna Sue Barr; 3 brothers, Tom, George, Edwin Barr; and 3 sisters, Lucille Stith, Bernadine Adkisson, Barbara Zeitz.
Survivors includes his wife: Loretta Sue Barr, Jamestown; 5 children: Elaine (Charlie) Buis, Russell Springs; Melissa Hill, Russell Springs; Stephanie (Terry) Alexander, Texas; John David Barr, Jr., Salt Lake City, Utah and Sean Edward Brown (Kevin Kristof), Alaska.
9 grandchildren-12 great grandchildren
3 sisters: Anna Catherine Knott, Brandenburg, Ky; Anita Bruner, Louisville and Martha Nell Elder, Hardinsburg, Ky.
Funeral Mass for John David Barr, Sr., will be 12 PM. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Rev. David Naylor officiating.
Visitation after 5 PM. Monday at Bernard Funeral Home and 8 AM. until 11 Am. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment in the Flanagan Cemetery.
