He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a farmer, loved fishing, growing pumpkins, hunting arrowheads, and digging ginseng.
Survived by his wife: Ruth Arnett Simpson of Green County.
Other survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law: Elva Jo and Ronnie Coffey of Adair County; two grandchildren: Bridgette Morgan of Greensburg, and Cody Coffey of Adair County; two great-grandchildren: Tyler Atwood of Greensburg, and Casen Wyatt Coffey of Adair County; a great-great-grandson: Preston Atwood of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Simpson was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Randy Simpson and Lanney Bolin.
The funeral for Mr. Joedene "Joe" Simpson will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is requested from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Sunday until time of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to the Oak Grove Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.
