She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was baptized at the South Campbellsville Baptist Church at the age of 11, and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. Mrs. Durrett was also a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Post 124 Auxiliary.
She united in marriage to Jack D. "J.D." Durrett on January 16, 1959 who preceded her in death on March 22, 1994.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Rodney and Rhonda Durrett of Alabama, and Ricky and Jo Durrett of Tompkinsville; five grandchildren: Allison Durrett of Alabama, Anna Durrett of Illinois, Amber Pruitt of Green County, Laura Inabnitt, and Brock Bowman both of Tompkinsville; two great-grandchildren: Kody Pruitt, and Rebekah Pruitt both of Green County; a sister: Lois Nadine Russell of Colorado; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Durrett was also preceded in death by a grandson: Jesse Bowman; and a brother: Kenneth Lee Allison.
The funeral services for Mrs. JoAnn Allison Durrett will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Green County Memory Gardens. Bro. Mickey Pruitt will be officiating.
Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Wednesday until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Parkinson's Research Foundation, which can be made at the funeral home.
