He was a former truck driver and dairy farmer, former president of the LaRue County Fair Board and a former member of the LaRue County Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Gardner Engle, his parents, Rolland and Dorothy Rollins Engle and a son-in-law, Lonzie Perkins.
He is survived by two daughters, Tammie Engle of Summersville and Debbie (Mitchell) Wells of Magnolia, a son, Jimmie Lee (Angela) Engle, Jr. of Summersville, six sisters, Deanna Ewing and Suzanne (Tommy) Ryan both of Elizabethtown, Frances Cantrell of Campbellsville, Phyllis (Roger) Kirby and Betty Jo (Mike) Beard both of Hodgenville and Barbara Edlin (George) of Lyons Station, five brothers, Junior Engle and John Henry (Debbie) Engle both of Hodgenville, Donnie (Libby) Engle of Buffalo, Wayne (Judy) Engle of White Mills and Eddie Engle of White City, six grandchildren, Anita (Shelby) Stearman, Jessica Wells (Jeremy), Ray Copley (Kayla), Ethan Wells, Ryan Engle and Chloe Engle, eight great-grandchildren, a special friend, Snookie Morrison of Hodgenville and a brother-in-law, Donnie (Lisa) Gardner of Elizabethtown.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Odell Warren and Bro. Dale Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 AM to 8 PM Wednesday and after 9 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
