Born on January 27, 1945, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jesse Howard and Hettie Pitman Jeffries. He was a bricklayer, gate hauler, and a farmer. He was a generous man that was a good friend to everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Morgan Jeffries, who he wed on November 17, 1969; two daughters, Jennifer (Mitch) Phillips of Liberty and Jessica (Brad) Mattingly of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Kaye (Jerry) Lucas of Hustonville; eight grandchildren, Chase Cruse, Hallie Kate Phillips, Lincoln Phillips, Drake Cruse, Kaitlin Phillips, Kennedy Phillips, Emorie Mattingly, and Eliana Mattingly; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Avery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Rose Wilcher; and a granddaughter, Eden Hope Mattingly.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shackelford officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
