John David “J.D.” Westerfield, II of Moreland, formerly of Boyle County passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016. Born November 22, 1925, he was the son of the late John David and Mary Alice McCowan Westerfield. He was retired from Genesco where he worked for 42 years as Maintenance Supervisor. He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by wives: Ferba Westerfield and Cleora Westerfield.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Beeler Price Westerfield two sons: John (Bonnie) Westerfield, III of Danville and James (Terry) Westerfield of Danville; four step children, including two step-daughters: Grace (Ed) McClean of Frankfort and Cheryl Ursprung of Moreland; one sister, Katherine Banker of OH; five grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 am, Saturday at Moreland Christian Church by Bro. Ernest Martin and Bro. Kenny Thompson with burial in Danville Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mark Henson, Billy Henson, Johnny Mack Henson, John David Westerfield, IV, Shawn Martinez, Morgan Martinez and Marc McClean. Honorary Pallbearers are James Lawson, William Powell, Curtis Herrington, Marshall Qualls and Chet Chidester.
Visitation is 5-9 pm, Friday at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home.
