
He was born December 16, 1935 in Saint Francis to the late Mae and Earl Miles. He formerly worked at Belknap and was a USPS Postal Carrier. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 26 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emelda Miles; one sister, Martha Nell Dant; six brothers, Woodrow, Eric, Tim, Tommy, J.E. and Stanley Miles.
Survivors include three sons, Rickey Miles (Shelly) of Lexington, Indiana, Gregory Miles (Donna) of Louisville and Rick Whitfill of Ghent; three grandchildren, Christopher, Jessa and Olivia Miles; one sister, Doris Ann Phenis; three brothers, Joe, Ronnie and Ardine Miles.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. His nephew, Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Interment will follow in Lebanon National Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation is 9 AM until time of service on Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
