Herman D. “Peck” Whitaker, age 85, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on December 26, 2015.
Herman was born to the late Lewis and Effie Whitaker on March 25, 1930 in Somerset, Kentucky. He was known for his loving and giving spirit to all who knew him. Herman was employed with Allison Payment Systems as a printer for 40 years of service and was an avid Kentucky sports fan.
Herman is survived by his son, Daniel (and Rhonda) Whitaker; grandchildren, Monica Whitaker, Jason Whitaker, Maegan (Damon) Jones, Joshua Whitaker, and Taylor Whitaker; great-grandchild, Eric Whitaker; and sister, Bertha Sears.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Whitaker; siblings, Carley, Violet, Betty, Pete, J.L., and Glenn.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. His funeral service will follow on Saturday at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Short Creek Cemetery.
