Helen was born on July 18, 1931 to the late Clyde and Sally Hardwick Gilpin in Casey County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmon Spradlin who passed away on September 12, 1987. Also preceding her were her siblings, Judy Buck, Teresa Bright and Ronald Gilpin and her son-in-law, Gerald Ford.
She enjoyed singing and meeting with her friends at Druthers.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ford of Campbellsville; three grandchildren, Christopher Ford and Chad Ford of Campbellsville and Jennifer Haffly and her husband, Tony of Winchester; three great-grandchildren, John Crain, Rinoa Haffly and Ezekiel Ford and a sister, Margie Hughes of Campbellsville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 12th at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Dwayne Lobb officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 11th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
