
She was born in Hogue, Kentucky on April 17, 1925, daughter of the late William Aaron and Ester Ann Randolph Hendricks. She was a graduate of Eubank High School and attended Eastern State College. She was a retired school teacher and social worker. She loved cooking, traveling and spending time with all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, Sue & (Billy) New, Doug Elliott and Peggy & (Russell) Bastin, six grandchildren, Liz & (Rick) Mullins, Brian & (Nicole) New, Stephanie & (Jim) Simpson, Doug & (Lisa) Elliott II, Matt Bastin and Mandy Bastin and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Izella Warren and four sisters-in-law, Mable Elliott, Nancy Elliott, Maxine Hendricks and Mary E. Hendricks.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Paul M. Elliott, who died on December 18, 1997, her adoptive parents, who were her maternal aunt and uncle, Ama Randolph and Cornelius Weddle, who raised her from infancy. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Alger, Amos, Lanas, Gerald, Nobel, James and Alva Hendricks and sisters, Leona Workman, Jesse Hendricks, Orlean Sweet and Ester Frybarger. Also preceding her in death are other family members, Goldie Vaught, Sara Margret Vaught, Alger Weddle, Otis Weddle, Wilkie Weddle, Morris Weddle, Fonnie Haggard, Maxine “Sug” Dick and Haynes Hendricks.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Massey officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11 AM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
