Born on July 19, 1942 in Liberty, Kentucky, he was the son of the late George and Hattie Reed.
George was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War.
On November 25, 1984 he married Juanita M. Banter. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2011.
George was a retired truck driver, enjoyed working on cars, and also gun and knife collecting.
Survivors include sons: Georgie Reed and Tim Reed: daughters; Georgana Rush, Norma Horton, and Ann Sayler (Jim): brother, Danny Reed (Jackie); and sisters, Shirley Reed, Fama Draper (Jack), Geneva Rogers, and Margie Garvin (Bill). George is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by a sister, Avi Brooks.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel at 119 E. Market St., Logansport, IN with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
Local services will also be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Hustonville, Kentucky at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Burial with military rites will be conducted at Mays Cemetery in Hustonville, Kentucky.
