He made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Sandlick Separate Baptist Church. He was a farmer. He was united in marriage to Shirley Davis Pepper on July 6, 1951. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Paul Pepper, Morgan Pepper, Shreve Pepper, Crawford Pepper, Glen Pepper, Henry Ford Pepper, and Ralph Pepper; four sisters: Rosie Unger, Evelyn Davis, Ruth Chaney, Oris Nunn.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Davis Pepper; one son and daughter-in-law: Tommy and Sharon Pepper; one daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Bobby Scott all of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Joe Calhoun, Lynn Bankard, Will Calhoun, Carrie Hughes, Amy Bloyd; ten great-grandchildren: Amber Abell, Halie Hall, Colton Hughes, Molly Hughes, Emily Treece, Jacob Treece, Sarah Jo Calhoun, Kenneth Bankard, Jacob Bankard, and Jacob Scott; one great-great grandson: Holand Hall; one sister: JoAnn Ramsey of Franklin, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law: Joyce Pepper of Greensburg and Nell Pepper of North Carolina; one brother-in-law: Ray Unger of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Funeral services for Eugene Pepper will be conducted 2 p.m., Central Time, Sunday January 24, 2021 at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home with Bro. Richie Curtis and Bro. Colton Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Separate Baptist Church Cemetery in the Grab Community of Green County.
A walk-through visitation will be from 10 a.m., Central Time, Sunday until the funeral hour.
