She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church. She was a former Machine Operator for Fruit of the Loom, Inc. She was a life member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed making crafts and painting.
She united in marriage to Freeman Thompson on February 10, 1940 who preceded her in death on October 22, 1966. She later united in marriage to Lyron H. Wiley on April 8, 1977 who also preceded her in death on November 25, 2007.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Wendell Gilbert of Campbellsville; a son: Jackie Thompson and his companion, Paulette Sprowles of Florida; seven grandchildren: Derrick Gilbert of Georgetown, Sonya Fullbright, Kim Warren, Jimmy Jean, Michelle Perkins, Tonya Marshall all of Florida, and Terry Thompson of Green County; great-grandchildren: Jon Gilbert and Chad Gilbert both of Georgetown and 11 other great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wiley was also preceded in death by a son: Charles Thompson; and four brothers: Clayton Warf, Howard Warf, Elmo Warf, and Odeen Warf.
The funeral services for Mrs. Esther Frances Warf Thompson Wiley will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pierce Community Cemetery. Bro. Dave Walters and Bro. Curtis Slinker officiating.
Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Tuesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Wednesday until time of the funeral service.
Memorials are suggested to the Pierce Community Cemetery or the Warf Cemetery, which can be made at the funeral home.
