Emma Hughes, 92, of the Flatwoods community, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 6:15 P.M. at her home.
She was born August 9, 1922, in Adair County, to the late Samuel Zachariah and Effie Staton Hughes. Miss Hughes was a member of Santa Fee Baptist Church, serving in many capacities and a graduate of Kentucky State University. She taught in both the Adair County and Metcalfe County School Systems.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Burial in Lasley Cemetery
Visitation on Saturday from 5-8pm at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home and after 1pm Sunday at Santa Fee Baptist Church. There will be no visitation on Sunday at the funeral home.
