Born May 8, 1932 in Adair County, KY, he was the son of Claud and Martha Jane Cleary Beaty. He was a farmer and owner/operator of Beaty’s Garage. He was a member of the Mannsville Christian Church. Elmer loved to sit on his front porch and he enjoyed going shopping at Wal-Mart. He was a former member of the Happy Gospel Singers and performed every Sunday on WKDO for over 40 years.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Ernestine “Tennie” Noe Beaty, whom he married September 20, 1973; a brother, Carlos (and Fern) Beaty of Daleville, Indiana; a sister, Zella Beaty McGaha of Adair County; and two special friends, Matt Hicks and Sharon Francis.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Delmer, Johnny, and Jesse Beaty; and three sisters, Adell Dickerson, Anna Pearl Blankenship and Ada Beaty.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 24, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Damon Romel and Bro. Larry Crenshaw officiating. Mr. Beaty will be laid to rest in Barnett’s Creek Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to Gideons Memorial Bibles in memory of Elmer Beaty.
Pallbearers are Matt Hicks, Tommy Bland, Mack Cox, Brian Woodrum, Wayne Pruer, and Sheridan Underwood. Honorary pallbearers are Carl Hicks, Doug Hicks, Milford Lowe, Roger Lowe, Steve Beaty, and Jimmy Dickerson.
