Born April 18, 1933 in Kings Mountain, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sally Jenkins Coker. Dortha was a minister for forty-eight years. For the last twenty-six years, she preached at Stanford Church of God. She enjoyed quilting, loved her family to the fullest, and was a Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan.
Survivors include her husband, William Floyd Grider; one daughter, Linda (and deceased husband, Steve) Kidd of Gravel Switch; and two sons, Charles (and MaryAnn) Grider of Elkhorn and William (and Louise) Grider, Jr. of Liberty. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Daniel, Steven, Dawn, Todd, Stephanie, Samantha, and Alecia; eighteen great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five sisters.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 1:00 pm at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Sparkman officiating. Burial will follow in Casey County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Kidd, Steven Kidd, Todd Grider, Andrew Kidd, Jacob Kidd, Charlie Grider, John Lowe and Dylan Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions of sympathy may be made to the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home at 449 McCarn Circle Sevierville, TN 37862.
