Dorothy L. Allen, 66, of Bowling Green died Sunday, November 1, 2015 at her residence.
The Bowling Green native was born March 2, 1949, a daughter of the late Gibb B. and Catherine Haley Short and was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Vinson and Pamela Short; a brother, Eugene Short and a grandchild, Nathan Coon.
Mrs. Allen was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and worked for 38 years as a registered nurse at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include her husband, William F. Allen of Bowling Green; one son, Doug Joiner (Janet Elliott) of Bowling Green; two daughters, Kris Joiner White (David Yanneris) of Cincinnati, OH and Dana Coon (Albert Coon) of Bowling Green; one brother, Hazel Short of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Ashley Koch (Jon Koch) of Nolensville, TN, Nicholas Coon and Catherine Joiner both of Bowling Green; two grand-dogs, Tank Coon and Dee Dee Joiner.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
