Born July 17, 1937 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Matthew T. and Estell Fottenbury Cooper. Ms. Doris was retired with 30 years from Fruit of the Loom. She was a member of the Sanders Chapel Church in Columbia. During the time Ms. Doris was a resident at the Liberty Care Center, she was the president of the Elder Council, general store clerk, and the elder advocate.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Debbie Trammell, of Commerce Georgia; one granddaughter, Erin Elizabeth Trammell; two brothers, Raymond (Edwinna) Cooper, of Liberty; Ronnie (Geneva) Cooper of Alabama; two sisters, Helen Clements and Margaret Bell, both of Liberty.
Ms. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Trammell, Jr., who passed away December 19, 1987; a son, Rev. Donald Gene Trammell; five brothers, Matthew T. Cooper Jr., Thomas Jackson Cooper, Harold L. Cooper, Ortis Cooper and Gary Cooper; and one sister, Sible Darlene Cooper.
Funeral Services are 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Corbin officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiter Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
