Born on November 2, 1936, in Casey County, he was the oldest son of the late Tommie and Nellie Noel Land. Donald was a lifelong dairy farmer and carpenter. He was baptized at Gum Lick Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Shirley Bell Land; four children, Karen (Arnold) Goode, Kevin (Shari) Land, Karrell (Dennis) Wilkerson, and Kaye (Dale) Sellers; grandchildren, Amanda (Herb Todd) Spinks, Annette (Kevin) Nesbitt, Adam (Ashley) Dean, Alex (Logan) Goggin, Karey Sellers, Jonathan (Kristy) Wilkerson, and Jamie (Kara) Wilkerson. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, Kara (Brady) Cowan, Kate Spinks, Landon Nesbitt, Logan Nesbitt, Kash Dean, Carson, Hudson, and Grayson Wilkerson, Landon, Lukas, and Kailey Wilkerson; a great-great-grandchild, Baylee Cowan; sisters, Josephine (Richard) Colvin, Sharon Harne, and Sandy (Garry) Oney; a sister-in-law, Anita Land; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Brown Land; a brother, Roger Land; and a grandson, Andrew Dean.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Patton and Bro. Darrell Treece officiating. Burial will follow in Noel’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Facial coverings ARE required.
