Born January 29, 1923 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late George and Viva Atkins Roy. She was a homemaker and former janitor at the Kentucky Theater. Dorey was a member of the Thomas Ridge Christian Church. Docey was a devoted mother and matriarch of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clyde Goodin, Sr. who died February 7, 2013; 2 sons, Clyde Goodin, Jr. and Darrell Goodin; a granddaughter, Tina Goodin; a great-granddaughter, Dosha Passmore; 7 brothers, Romey, Bocey, Vester, Columbus, Willie, Nathanel, and Jimmy Roy; and five sisters, Donnie Roy Russell, Cindy Roy, Ora Roy, Emma Roy, and Adell Roy.
Survivors includes three daughters, Virginia (and Raymond) Anderson of Lineville, Alabama, Dixie Pendleton of Dunnville, and Gail Goodin of Lexington; 7 grandchildren, Ricky Anderson, Anette Harmon, Randy and Mark Anderson, Tammy Phillips, Cherry Kilgallin, and Peggy Hatfield; 17 great grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service are 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Docey Goodin will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is Monday from 6:00-9:00 P.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and will continue Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until funeral service.
Pallbearers are Derrick Pendleton, Peggy Hatfield, Jason Hatfield, Randy Anderson, Barry Ballenger, and Christian Kilgallin.
