He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Gumm served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
Dennis was a retired pipe fitter, having been employed by Zachary Construction and Exxon Mobil. He enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, listening to Cajun music and visiting the Pine Tree Lodge. He will be remembered for his caring heart and many acts of kindness.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Craig and Courtney Gumm of Long Beach, Mississippi; one granddaughter: Samantha Gumm of Pontotoc, Mississippi; two brothers and six sisters: Billy Gumm (Cathy Tapscott) and Jeri Lynn Gumm Stone (Joe) all of Campbellsville, Connie Lee Gumm Noe of Hodgenville, Al Mulkey (Angie Musto) of Washington, Mary Kathleen Gumm and Kimberley Ruth Gumm Scallon (Bubba) all of Louisiana, Colleen Bunzy (Berke) of Florida, and Vickie Baldwin (Mark) of Idaho; one brother-in-law: James Brown of Upton; the mother of his son: Jean Lantrip; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Norman Michael Gumm; one sister: Lisa Carol Gumm Brown; step-mother: Darlene Louise Gumm; step-father: Herschel Miller; and one brother-in-law Jerry Noe.
The funeral services for Mr. Dennis Allen Gumm will be conducted 2 P.M., Central Time, on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Gupton-Landrum Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial to follow in the O’banion Cemetery in Green County with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veteran Honor Guard. Bro. Victor Matney officiating.
Visitation is requested after 10 A.M., Central Time, Thursday, until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be made in the form of donations to the family burial fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
