On October 9, 1967 he united in marriage with Theda Katherine "Kathy" Jones who passed away October 30, 2006.
To this union four children survive: Micheala Katherine Jones and Delbert and his wife Renee Jones III all of Monticello; Sherman Jones and his fiancée Rachael Weston and Eric and wife Debbie all of Somerset. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Delbert (Autumn) Jones IV, Crystal, Chasity and Seth Jones; great grandchildren: Bailey Foster and Emerie Jones; Siblings: Susan (George) Oregon, Connie (David) Curry, Zela Jones, Beatrice Robins, Angela Parker, David and Wendell Jones.
His siblings, Judy Puryear and Sherman Jones precedes him in death.
Bro. Delbert worked in the deep mines of Harlan County until his health failed. He accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of the Verda Baptist Church. Later he accepted Gods call and was ordained a Minister of the Gospel from Verda and referred to it as his " Home Church ". During his years of ministry his served Red Bud Missionary Baptist Church in Everts, Kentucky, Smith Baptist Church in Harlan County, Pike View Baptist Church in Clinton County, Elk Ridge Baptist Church in Wayne County and had served the Concord Baptist Church in Wayne County for the last fifteen years.
Visitation is Friday from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M.
Funeral Service is Saturday at 2 P.M. at Hickey & Son Funeral Home
