Danny Joe Zimmerman, age 64, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Monday, November 30, 2015 at his residence.
Danny was born on May 13, 1951 in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Joseph Daniel and Gracie McGowan Zimmerman. Danny was an Electrical Engineer for the US Government and a US Navy Veteran. He was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He loved America and the United States Flag.
He is survived by his wife; Elizabeth “Libby” Moore Zimmerman, who he married on May 14, 2011 in Somerset, three sons; Jay Zimmerman of San Diego, CA, David (and Kellee) Zimmerman of Somerset, KY, Jason (and Bridgette) Cincinnati, OH, three daughters; Crystal Buyaki of Russell Springs, KY, Brooke (and Bryan) Wilson of Las Vegas, NV, Jessika (and Wesley) Wade of Cynthiana, KY, a brother; Ronnie (and Judy) Zimmerman of Science Hill, KY, along with several nieces, nephews and many loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Danny was preceded in death by an infant brother; Elvis Jay Zimmerman, and a grandson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 6:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the American Legion Post #38.
