He had made a profession of faith in Christ, worked for Kentucky Trailers, and was also a former Press Operator for Publisher Printing Company. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department as Unit #22 and was also Maintenance Officer.
Survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruth Diane Risen Rogers of Summersville, having united in marriage on June 29, 1974.
Other survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Jackie and Byron Roby of Shepherdsville, and Rachel Rogers of Louisville; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Christian and Amanda Rogers of Greensburg, and Joshua Rogers of Louisville; adopted children: Chris and Brittany Calvert of Shepherdsville, and Joshua and April Riggle of Summersville; his mother-in-law: Laverne Risen of Louisville; seven grandchildren: Michael Roby, Zachary Roby, Justin Thompson, Jagger Thompson, Kaine Murphy, Allis Riggle, and Oliver Riggle; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Barbara Colyer of Greensburg, Judy and Larry Nevitt, and Mary Rogers all of Shepherdsville; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Kenny and Juanita Rogers of Shepherdsville and Marvin Trail of Shelbyville; brothers-in-law: Wayne Risen, Wesley Simpson, David Woodward, Frankie Woodward, James "J.C." Woodward, and Richard Woodward; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Rogers was also preceded in death by Clint Gaw; adopted grandson: Chris McDaniels; father-in-law: Robert Risen; two brothers-in-law: Ronnie Risen and Tommy Colyer.
The funeral services for Mr. Carl Kenneth Rogers, Jr., will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Central Time, Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with committal service and firefighter honors to follow at the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department.
Cremation was also chosen. Bro. Carl Alvin Rogers, Bro. Joshua Rogers, Bro. Twyman Davis, and Bro. Leslie Jewell officiating.
Visitation is requested from 3 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Thursday until time of the service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family memorial fund, which can be made at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.
