He had a made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Greensburg Baptist Church for 58 years. He was a National Guard Veteran and a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post 124 Greensburg, KY. He was united in marriage to Margaret Henderson Blakeman, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers: Temple Kirtley, Edna Parrott, Lula Havens, Olin, Early, Craddock, Leo and Melvin Blakeman.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter: Greg Blakeman and his wife Janet, Myra Rodgers and Todd Blakeman all of Greensburg, one brother and three sisters: George Blakeman of Fort Worth, Texas, Cleo Underwood of Campbellsville, Nora Graybeal of Paducah and his twin sister: Barbara Loyall of Brentwood, Tennessee, four grandchildren: Alec and Chrissy Rodgers of Greensburg, Blake and Cassie Rodgers of Nashville, Tennessee, Chase Blakeman of Lexington, KY and Taryn Hedgespeth of Campbellsville, four great grandchildren: Grayson and Ethan Rodgers, Connor and Kate Hedgespeth, plus a host of other relatives and friends.
