Born April 17, 1932 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Stanley and Cordie Holt Bernard. Arvis was a member of the Dunnville Christian Church. He loved playing bluegrass music on his guitar and banjo, hunting and fishing. He greatly loved his grandkids and Amish neighbors.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Alvleen Terry Bernard, whom he married November 30, 1955; one son, Brent and (Judy) Bernard of Danville and one daughter, Connie Coppage of Dunnville; five grandchildren, Logan, Derek and Carissa Bernard and Jordan and Alex Coppage; one brother, Gene and (Naomi) Bernard of Dunnville and two sisters in-law, Edra Bernard and Opal Bernard of Dunnville.
Mr. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Patricia and Rebecca Bernard and two brothers, Avery and Addis Bernard.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his children and grandchildren.
