He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served two tours of duty in the United States Army. He received several Service, Campaign and Counteroffensive Medals, as well as three Bronze Stars and other Armed Forces Medals.
Jesse was a retired over the road truck driver, having driven for thirty-five years and most recently, with CTI based out of Indiana..
He enjoyed motorcycles, whether it be cleaning, riding or showing them and won “Best of Show” at several events. He also loved reading western books, watching his horses and enjoyed a good barbecue.
He united in marriage to Joyce Wright August 25, 2000.
Besides his wife, Joyce Welch, of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Johnny Welch of Conroe, Texas; two step-daughters: Autumn Lisby of Campbellsville and Robbi Lou Murphy of Conroe, Texas; two step-sons: Steven Lisby of Indianapolis, Indiana and J. R. Lisby of Shelbyville, Indiana; two granddaughters: Alysa Welch and Kaylee Welch of Conroe, Texas; several step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, John Jay Welch and wife, Carol of Savannah, Georgia; three puppies: Wally, Cheyenne and Rowdy; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Cremation was chosen by the family.
