Born on May 24, 1938, in Liberty, KY, he was a son of the late Dennis Wilcher and Patsy Lay Atwood. Dwight attended Liberty First Church of God. He enjoyed music and loved singing in his gospel group, “The Gospel Harmony.”
Dwight is survived by his loving wife, Faye Wheeler Wilcher; three daughters, Sonja (and Scott) Kessler, Michelle (and Don) Back and Renee Wilcher, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Greg Wilcher of Cincinnati, Ohio; two step-daughters, Rita (and Mike) Poynter of Louisville and Diane Terry of Liberty. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Lou Allen of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and seven grandchildren, Austin, Olivia, Chelsea, Madison, Michaela, Amber and Anthony.
In addition to his parents, Dwight is predeceased by a sister, Dean Helton; and three brothers, Leonard Wilcher, Gene Wilcher and Junior Wilcher.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Wilcher will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, and from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
