Edmonton, Ky. (January 21, 2019) – Kentucky State Police are asking for the publics assistance in attempting to locate 15 -year-old Amber Shirley, of Edmonton, KY. Amber is a 5’ 02 ” 195 pound, white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen Robert Wilson Rd On January 18th at approximately 11:00 PM wearing pajama pants and a tshirt.

According to jail records, Tony Huff, 36, was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center by Deputy Dustin Bunch on charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place 1st and 2nd offense, 3rd degree criminal trespassing, 2nd degree disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, buying or possessing drug paraphernalia, and probation violation.

The L. “Doc” Cassidy Award is given for outstanding service and dedication to the association, of which Thomas was president in 2016. (Other Adair countians who served as president were Grover Gilpin in 1955, seven years after the association was formed; William Wilson in 1969, Joe Johnson in 1980 and Terry Harvey in 2007.) Thomas has been active in the state association for many years. Last year, Thomas won the second William L. Taylor Civic Service Award, named for the former Greensburg mayor, civic leader, fair chairman and 24-year association secretary who died just before the 2016 convention. When Tpr. Houk arrived he made contact with the driver, 35 year old Brad Smith of Campbellsville. Tpr. Houk noticed that Smith showed signs of impairment. Consent to search the vehicle was given resulting in 3 small bags of suspected methamphetamine and a large sum of cash being located. Smith was arrested and charged with failure of non owner to maintain required insurance, failure to produce insurance card, DUI 2nd, and trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree 2nd or > (2 grams methamphetamine.) Smith was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center. Trooper Houk was assisted by Green County Sheriff, Robbie Beard.

(Burkesville, KY January 15, 2019) - Detective Kenny Brown is investigating a collision that occurred on January 14th, 2019 at approximately 2:43 PM CST on KY 61 north at the intersection of KY 704. 55 year old William Durham, of Liberty, was operating a 2015 Dodge Ram northbound on Ky 61 when he swerved into the southbound lane, into the path of a 2018 Chevrolet operated by James Rowe, age 76 of Burkesville. Both parties were wearing seatbelts. Rowe was taken by private vehicle to Cumberland County hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. Durham refused medical attention; he was arrested and charged with DUI. Durham was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. Detective Brown was assisted on scene by Cumberland County Fire, EMS and Rescue.

On January 8th at Approx 4:24 pm Adair County 911 dispatched Deputy Derek Padgett to the intersection of KY 61 south and Wheeler Hill Rd to a reported 2 vehicle collision with injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a tractor and trailer had stopped on KY 61 to make a left hand turn onto Wheeler Hill Rd. Unit 2 a 2008 Kia operated by Vonda Fudge of Columbia was stopped in traffic behind semi. Unit 1 a 2015 Dodge Caravan operated by Lori Toppings age 52 of Columbia was traveling south on KY 61 and was unable stop. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 in rear of vehicle. Vonda Fudge and passenger Geene Passenger was transported to TJ Health of Columbia by Adair EMS for non life threatening injuries. Lori Topping and her passenger who was a juvenile was also transported to TJ Health of Columbia by EMS for non life threatening injuries. Deputy Padgett was assisted on scene by Sheriff Brockman , Columbia Police Department , and Adair County EMS . |
