The program is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration with a goal of removing opioids and other medicines that are unused from our community’s homes where they are vulnerable to misuse, theft, or abuse by family members and visitors including children and teens.

The Sheriffs Office was set up in the shopping center on Jamestown street from the hours of 10am to 2 pm.  In 4 hours over 60 lbs of pills were collected.   This pills will be properly destroyed. This will also reduces the risk of ground water pollution as opposed to when they are flushed.

Sheriff Brockman’s Office was assisted by members of the Adair County EMS and the Adair County Judge Executive who all came by to help collect and sort the medicines.  Huge thank you for their help and thank you to the community for making the day a success.
