PUBLIC NOTICE
The Adair County Board of Elections met today in their regular monthly meeting, and voted to continue their Regular Monthly Meetings on the following dates, time and location; Adair County Board of Elections will meet every fourth Thursday of each month, at 2:30 p.m. CST in the Adair County Clerk’s Office, 424 Public Square, Ste3, Columbia KY 42728. All meetings are open to the public. Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan is sad to inform the constituents of Adair County District 7 that Magistrate Terry Hadley had a stroke on Thursday night. He is stable at this time and Judge Cowan along with the family would ask you to keep him in your prayers.
If anyone in District 7 of Adair County has a concern or issue, they can call the Adair County Judge’s Office at 270-384-4703. Judge Cowan, the Court Road Department, and the entire Fiscal Court will work together to handle issues in Magistrate Hadley’s illness. Again, we ask that you keep Magistrate Hadley and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan At 1:55 pm Adair County Sheriffs Office was dispatched to Milltown Church rd. Adair County 911 advised they had received a call from a female who had located a small child in the roadway. Upon Deputy Hitch’s arrival he located the female who had pulled to side of road and placed child in her vehicle due to child being cold and wet from the rain. After investigation the location the child may have walked from had been determined and deputy’s proceeded to that location which was approximately. 3 tenths of a mile down the road. Nobody was home at residence however while they was there the brother of the child pulled into driveway. The brother had left and went to town to run an errand and get gas and admitted he left child there.
Tyler Butler was arrested on charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and Wanton Endangerment. He was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail by Deputy Hitch. Hitch was assisted on scene by Sheriff Brockman, Deputy Durbin , and Child Protective Services. On 01-21-2019 at 6:13 pm the Adair County Sheriffs Office responded to a single vehicle collision. Deputy Brandon Hitch was dispatched to the 43 mm on the LBN Parkway. Upon his arrival it was found that a 2007 Toyota Avalon being driven by Tyler Pollitte 34 of Owensboro had hit black ice and lost control. The vehicle which was traveling east spun around travelled across the median and struck the guardrail in the westbound lane of traffic.
Adair County EMS responded and treated Pollitte and his passenger William Long also of Owensboro on scene before transporting them to TJ Health of Columbia for Additional treatment. Deputy Brandon Hitch is investigating Deputy. The Adair County Fiscal Court will meet in a Special Called Fiscal Court meeting Friday, January 25, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. CT. in the basement of the Adair County Courthouse Annex Building. The public is invited to attend.

Clarence Greene with the KY Association of Electric Cooperatives was at the Columbia-Adair County Fire Department last Wednesday night to provide Electrical Safety training to all members of Columbia-Adair County Fire Department, Knifley Fire Department, and Breeding Fire Department.
Assisting him with the training were employees of the Taylor Co. RECC, John Edwards, and David Karnes. Not pictured Derrick Bray. We appreciate the training and it was very informative. Below are photo from the training. The City of Columbia has hired Derrick Helm of Russell County as the new city attorney. Derrick is affiliated with Helm, Shearer and Wilson Law Firm and began his practice in 2009 with Bertram and Wilson. Derrick has worked with several agencies and is currently the legal counsel for the Lake Cumberland Area Development District as well as the Lake Cumberland Community Action Agency. He is the son of Larry and Wanda Giles Helm. Derrick’s ties to Adair County include his father Larry being a long time employee of the Westlake Regional Hospital Radiology Department and his mother Wanda who is a native of Adair County. (Columbia, KY January 21, 2019) – Trooper Clint Bale is investigating a collision that occurred on January 19th, 2019 at approximately 1:00 PM CST on the Cumberland Parkway near the 46 mile marker. Michele Antle, age 42 of Jamestown, was eastbound operating a 2006 Saturn, when she hydroplaned, lost control of the vehicle and entered into the median; she then struck a culvert and overturned. The operator and a juvenile passenger were not belted. Both Antle and passenger were transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Sampson Hospital where they were treated and released.
