A Carlisle Co. woman was arrested last week in Russell County as part of a multi-agency investigation into trafficking in “Crystal Methamphetamine”.
On Wednesday, August 26, 2015, a Russell Circuit Court Indictment was served on 33-year-old Delana Mott of Arlington, Ky. Mott was named in a sealed indictment by a Russell County Grand Jury in May, 2015, along with seven other individuals. Charges range from Trafficking, Conspiracy to Traffic and Engaging in Organized Crime. Mott was transported from Carlisle County to the Russell County Detention Center by Sheriff Clete McAninch, Det. Joey Hoover and DEA Agent Greg Bunch where she was processed on the local charges and later released on bond pending her initial appearance in Russell Circuit Court later this month. The investigation is ongoing. Congrats to the Adair Co. High School Football Team on defeating Caverna on Friday night. The Indians are 2 & 0 and will play at LaRue County this Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.CT.
On 08-30-2015 at 7:30 p.m. Columbia Police Department responded to a reported theft on Russell Rd.
Upon officers arrival they made contact with suspect Kimberly Pierce age 40 of Columbia. Upon further investigation it was found that she was in possession of stolen merchandise from a local retailer. She was also found to be in possession of controlled substances. Pierce was arrested and placed into custody at the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of Theft By Unlawful Taking, Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd degree, and Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container. CPD Ofc. John Dial is investigating officer. 37-year-old Chelsy Means of Campbellsville, Ky. was arrested by the Campbellsville Police Dept. and charged with: Public intoxication; Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and another unspecified drug; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Trafficking in a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
Means was lodged in the Taylor Co. Detenion Center. There will be a Special Called Meeting of the Columbia City Council on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. in City Hall. Items on the agenda are as follows:

A quartet of Lindsey Wilson College international students spent Thursday afternoon at Adair County Primary Center, where they taught the school’s second-graders about their native lands. The four LWC students -- who were from Western Europe and East Asia -- told the Adair County Primary Center students about their countries’ cultures, cuisines, celebrations and education systems. More than than 100 international students from more than 40 countries are enrolled at LWC this fall. The four LWC students who met with the Adair County second-graders on Thursday were: Tae Joon Lee, who is from the Gyeonggi-do province of South Korea; Nick Croucher of Bristol, England; Fabienne Rochaix of Stafa, Switzerland; and Clemens Paetzold of Ratzeburg, Germany. |
