Single vehicle accident in Marion County

Tpr. Logan Smith is investigating a collision that occurred today at approximately 8:51 AM EDT on US 68, 10 miles west of Lebanon. 

​ 48-year-old James Simmons, of Campbellsville, was operating a westbound 2006 Ford Taurus when he hydroplaned off of the roadway and struck a rock wall.  Simmons was treated and released at Taylor County Hospital and was wearing his seatbelt.

Injury Accident on Greensburg Road Metcalfe County, Ky.

​The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Region 2 investigated a single vehicle collision that occurred Monday at 3:58 p.m. CST on Greensburg Road, 2 miles east of Edmonton.  48-year-old Robert Slagle of Bronston, KY was operating a 2014 Freightliner traveling westbound on Greensburg Road.  Slagle ran off the roadway causing the trailer to overturn.

Slagle and a passenger, 25-year-old Jordan Harness, of Somerset, were both belted and were transported to T J Samson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Senior Officer Adam Davis is investigating and was assisted at the scene by Trooper Hedgespeth, Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department, EMS and Rescue.

Russell Co. woman arrested for endangering a minor

A Russell Co. woman was arrested Sunday night for endangering a minor and disorderly conduct.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. last evening, 31-year-old Sheena David of Jamestown, Ky. was arrested at ABC Apartments on Airport Road in Jamestown, Ky. on charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and Disorderly Conduct.

The investigation was conducted by Russell Co. Deputy Sheriff Evan Burton, Deputy Sheriff Ethan Pike and Jamestown Police Officer Dustin Bunch.

David was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.

Adair Co. man arrested early this morn.  (Mon.) after foot pursuit.

An Adair Co. man was arrested early this morning (Monday) following a brief foot pursuit.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., 41-year-old Troy Doss of Columbia, Ky. was arrested and lodged in the Russell Co. Detention Center. Doss was wanted on a Parole Violation warrant from Adair Circuit Court and had fled from Russell Co. Deputy Nick Bertram last Thursday evening in the Beckham Ridge community of Russell Springs, striking Deputy Bertram with his pickup truck in doing so.

Acting on information received early this (Monday) morning, Deputy Evan Burton, Deputy Mark Cromwell, Deputy Ethan Pike and Russell Springs Police Officer Jeremy West went to an apartment complex off U.S. 127 North in search of Doss. Moments after their arrival, Doss fled the apartment on foot. A brief chase ensued with Doss being taken into custody.

Doss was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center on Parole Violations, Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, Resisting Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.

Adair County Band takes home  Grand Champion

This past Saturday, October 26, 2015 your Adair County Band traveled to Pulaski County to compete in a KEMA competition. 

Adair County scored Top honors with Grand Champion and these top awards, Best Music, Best Visual Performance, Best Percussion and Best Color Guard.  

Congratulations to the Adair County Band.  Russell County Band took home Reserve Grand champion.  The Bands next competition is Saturday, Oct 3, 2015 at Taylor County High School.

Adair County Indians Football win over KCD 45-19

The Adair County Indians football team traveled Friday night, Oct 26, to Louisville, Ky to take on Kentucky Country Day.

Final Score was 45-19 making your Adair County Indians 6-0 on the season. Way to go Tribe. 

Their next game is this Friday night at home against Edmonson County.  Game starts at 7 p.m. 
Come out and support and cheer for your Adair County Indians.

Lindsey Wilson Football takes over No. 1 spot in NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

For the first time in program history, the Lindsey Wilson College football team is the top team in the nation as the latest edition of the NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll was released on Monday by the national office.

The undefeated Blue Raiders moved up one spot from No. 2 to No. 1 after receiving 338 total voting points and 12 first-place votes.

The move to the top of the rankings came after a bye week for Lindsey Wilson, but former No.1-ranked Morningside (Iowa) slipped three spots to No. 4 after suffering their first loss of the season on Thursday.

After coming into 2015 with a No. 7 preseason ranking, the 3-0 Blue Raiders have climbed in each poll moving from No. 7 to No. 3, No. 3 to No. 2, and now from No. 2 to No.1.

Behind Lindsey Wilson is Southern Oregon at No. 2 with 310 points and one first-place vote, and fellow Mid-South Conference West Division member Faulkner (Ala.) at No. 3 with 308 points and one first-place vote. Morningside garnered the final first-place vote in the No. 4 slot with 306 points. Carroll (Mont.) completes the top five with 300 points at No. 5.

Fellow MSC West Division member Reinhardt (Ga.) comes in at No. 14 and is also undefeated on the year.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Saturday night under the lights at Union (Ky.) with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. CT

KSP Accepting Trooper Cadet Applications

The Kentucky State Police is now taking applications for its 94th Academy. Interested applicants should visit the KSP website at http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/career.html.

Information available on the website includes an outline of the application process, a list of minimum requirements and disqualifications, a downloadable application form with a list of supporting documents required, a downloadable study guide for the written test, physical requirements and a list of testing dates, times and locations.

KSP will be offering the written test at the following cites at 6:00 PM local time. 

October 8th - University of Pikeville

October 15th - Murray State University

October 22nd - Warren East High School, Bowling Green

October 29th - Union College, Barbourville

All applications must be completed and returned to the KSP Recruitment Branch at 919
Versailles Road, Frankfort, KY 40601 by the close of business on October 12th, 2015.

Marion County Injury Collision

Tpr. John Boyd is investigating a collision that occurred today at 3:57 PM EDT on Loretto Rd, 4 miles north of Lebanon.  16-year-old Bailey Johnson, of Lebanon, was operating a southbound 2001 Toyota on Loretto Rd. when he dropped off of the shoulder, traveled over an embankment and overturned.  

​Johnson and a passenger, 15-year-old Conner Johnson, of Lebanon, were both belted and were taken to Springview Hospital for minor injuries.  Tpr. Boyd was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff's Department, Fire, EMS and Rescue
