The PRIDE of Lake Cumberland, a vessel which assists in removing trash, isn’t even operating right now because there was damage done to the rubber and other parts from debris earlier this year.
Officials say this has been a problem in the lake for the last few months, and now they are exploring different solutions on how to continue the cleanup while the PRIDE gets repaired.
In just the last two weeks, more than 1000 yards of debris, and 560 lots and trees were taken out of the water.
Another concern with the debris is safety, not just for boats, but for swimmers.
