Child Protective Services had initiated an investigation, based on a complaint they received through central intake.
Early in the investigation, CPS saw that law enforcement needed to be brought into the case.
Contact was then made with the Sheriff’s Office.
After the initial investigation, probable cause was found and Sheriff Brockman requested a warrant of arrest from the Adair County Attorney.
That warrant was granted by the Adair District Judge.
Benjamin Andrew, 31, was arrested and lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on the charge of Criminal Abuse (2nd degree – child under 12 years old), a class D Felony
The case remains under investigation by Sheriff Brockman.
