“While Rep. Carney has proven to be an outstanding legislator and leader within our caucus, he is also a hardworking and dedicated educator,” Leader Hoover said. “His passion is to ensure our students and schools perform at the highest levels possible, which makes him a natural choice to serve on this important committee.”
“I’m pleased and humbled in the confidence Rep. Hoover has shown in me by appointing me to serve on this committee,” said Rep. Carney. “Teaching is the cornerstone to the future success of our great Commonwealth, and it is imperative we know what works and what we can improve upon when it comes to our educational system.”
According to the Legislative Research Commission (LRC) website, the Education Assessment and Accountability Review Subcommittee reviews administrative regulations and advise the Kentucky Board of Education concerning the implementation of the state system of assessment and accountability, and provides oversight and direction to the Office of Education Accountability.
