PROHIBITON AGAINST ELECTIONEERING DURING ABSENTEE VOTING (MACHINES)
Pursuant to KRS117.235 (3); KRS 117.255; 31 KAR 4:170
The electioneering ban during absentee voting only applies to the Courthouse Annex, in which absentee voting is being conducted and prohibits election materials to be affixed to the interior and exterior of the building.
No person shall electioneer within the interior of a building or affix any electioneering materials to the exterior or interior of a building where the county clerk’s office is located, during the hours; absentee voting is being conducted.
ABSENTEE VOTING ON VOTING MACHINES IN OFFICE:
Voters who due to age, disability, or illness, will be unable to go to the polls on Election Day
Voters who are absent from the county on Election Day.
Military personnel, their dependents, and overseas citizens who will be absent from the county on Election Day.
Military personnel confined to base who learn of it within seven days or less of an election
Students and residents who temporarily reside outside of the county. This includes vacationers.
Voters who have surgery scheduled that will require hospitalization on Election Day (including the voter’s spouse).
A woman in her last trimester of pregnancy
Election officials: Precinct election officer appointed to serve in a precinct other than his/her own. Alternate precinct election officer. County Board of Elections members, staff, and, deputy clerks.
Voter must confirm voter’s identity:
Be prepared to confirm your identity, Kentucky law requires the election officers to confirm if not personally know by the election officers. Please have one of the following identifications available when you are ready to sign roster;
- Drivers’ License, does not have to be a Kentucky issued DL
- Social Security Card
- Credit Card
- Other ID
- Any ID card with picture and signature of voter
- Any Kentucky state government-issued ID card; and
- Any United States government-issued ID card
