The ranking marks the third straight rating the Blue Raiders have been No. 8. Lindsey Wilson has been ranked in 47 consecutive national polls, including in the top-10 in 10 straight polls.
The Blue Raiders (11-2) received 212 total voting points from the panel of national raters.
Lindsey Wilson completed its season with a 42-27 setback at eventual national runner-up Baker (Kan.) in the Football Championship Series Quarterfinals. The 11 wins during the season is a program record.
Saint Francis (Ind.) sits atop the national poll after winning the program’s first national title on Saturday in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Cougars received 288 voting points and all 13 first-place votes.
Baker is No. 2 with 277 voting points followed by Reinhardt (Ga.) and Eastern Oregon with 262 and 255 voting points, respectively.
The 2017 Spring Poll is scheduled to be released on Monday, April 10.
