The Blue Raiders received a total of 182 voting points from the panel of head coaches.
Last season’s national champion Morningside (Iowa) sits atop the poll with 366 points at all 16 first-place votes. Benedictine (Kan.) is No. 2 with 352 points, Saint Francis (Ind.) is No. 3 with 338 points and Kansas Wesleyan is No. 4 with 307 points. Saint Xavier (Ill.) rounds out the top-five with 300 voting points.
The Mid-South Conferences is well represented in the preseason poll as nine institutions are mentioned in the top-25 or the receiving votes section. Six of the teams, including Lindsey Wilson, come from the MSC Bluegrass division and will be featured on the Blue Raiders schedule this season.
No. 10 Reinhardt (Ga.), No. 16 Bethel (Tenn.), No. 17 Cumberlands (Ky.), No. 19 Southeastern (Fla.) and No. 21 Georgetown (Ky.) all appear in the top 25. Cumberland (Tenn.), Ave Maria (Fla.) and Campbellsville (Ky.) appear in the receiving votes section of the poll.
The first regular-season poll is scheduled to be released on Monday, Sept 16.
Lindsey Wilson is coming off a 7-3 season, including a 4-2 mark in the MSC Bluegrass Division. The Blue Raiders open the 2019 season on Thursday, August 29, against Campbellsville in the annual Battle of Highway 55. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT at Blue Raider Stadium.
