The one-day event features 24 schools -- 12 from the large-school division and 12 from the small-school division. Six sectional champions and the sectional runners-up make up the field in the each division.
Union County -- the five-time defending state champion -- is the top seed in the small-school division. LaRue County and Wayne County are the second and third seeds for the small schools.
Johnson Central is the top seed in the large-school division. Woodford County is the No. 2 seed while Simon Kenton is the third seed among the large schools. Defending large-school state champion Oldham County is one of six unseeded schools in the field.
Saturday begins with four three-team pool play in each division. Pool play begins at 9 a.m. CT with two mats in Biggers Sports Center and six mats in the Holloway Health & Wellness Center.
The four pool-play winners advance to the state semifinals while the remaining schools wrestle in consolation brackets. The championship matches are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT.
The Kentucky Wrestling Coaches Association State Duals began in 1990. In 2012, the state duals were divided into the two divisions.
Admission to the event is $10 for adults, $6 for ages 16 and under and free for children five and under. Trackwrestling.com is providing live scoring for the event.
