The speaker was former professional baseball player Doug Flynn, sponsored by WAIN Radio.
Awards were presented to outstanding nominees in various categories.
The award winners were:
Outstanding Business Professional Woman -- Susan Loy, co-owner of Barger Insurance Agency
Outstanding Business Professional Man -- Michael Lee Stephens, Adair Co. Judge Executive and local pharmacist
Outstanding Volunteer -- Mary Knight, who is involved with many organizations including volunteering to help plant flowers and maintain the landscaping on the Public Square
Outstanding Business -- Lynn's Service Center located at the bottom of Jamestown Hill in Columbia
Outstanding Employee -- Debbie Selby who works at the Bank of Columbia
Outstanding Agriculturist -- Terry Partin who manages a 650 acre family farmer and founder of the South Central Ky. Outdoor Expo
Outstanding Educator -- Jennifer Kemp, a teacher at Adair Co. Middle School
Outstanding Health Advocate -- Jelaine Harlow who works at the Lake Cumberland District Health Dept. Jelaine is Health Educator in Adair & Casey County's. She was instrumental in getting many Adair County restaurants to become "smoke-free."
Several door prizes were given away and a great meal (prepared by the Lindsey Wilson College Cranmer Dining staff) was enjoyed by the large crowd in attendance at the 2015 Chamber of Commerce Banquet.
For those who could not attend the Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet, it will air on Duo County Channel 102 at 7 PM CT on Friday and Saturday, April 24th and 25th. It will also be available for FREE on demand after the air date. The entertainment by the Lindsey Wilson Singers, under the leadership of Dr. Gerald Chaffin and Wansoo Choo was wonderful and this year’s speaker Doug Flynn was most entertaining.
