Local land developer Ronnie Davis submitted the petitions June 13 to Davis’ office.
Casey Davis said he will inform Casey County Judge-Executive Randy Dial that there are more than the 905 signatures required to call for an election.
That figure is derived from the number of signatures on a petition equal to 25 percent of voter turnout from the last General Election in November 2015.
In that election, 3,623 people voted, meaning 25 percent would be 905 signatures.
As for the date of the election, Dial said he will do what’s required by law to set an election date.
“I’ll set the date after I get confirmation from Casey that the names have been certified,” Dial said. “It can’t be less than 60 days nor more than 90 days from the date the petitions were filed with the clerk on June 13.
