According to the Kentucky News Network, Democratic State Representative George Brown, Jr. of Lexington is proposing a bill that would put a measure before the voters this November that, if approved, would make the lieutenant governor the president of the state senate. Brown says his bill would bring Kentucky's legislature in line with what the federal government does with the Vice President and the U.S. Senate. The legislation also clarifies the chain of command should the governor and lieutenant governor get impeached, die or are otherwise unable to continue in their roles.
