James Pilotte, 37, of Somonauk, Illinois pleaded guilty last week in Hardin Circuit Court to six counts of failure to make required disposition of property over $500, a Class D felony. As part of the plea agreement, Pilotte was sentenced to five years and was placed on probation for a period of five years, diverted for five years and will repay the victims.
On six separate occasions from March 2015 through May 2015, Pilotte took payments from six victims in Hardin County to repair their roofs. After accepting checks totaling $24,989.50, Pilotte failed to perform the work.
“My office is here to protect Kentuckians by prosecuting those who commit fraud,” Beshear said. “I am proud of my office handling this case and working hard to ensure these residents of Hardin County receive restitution.”
