Arrested was 31 year old Jeffrey Iames of Columbia. Iames was charged with fleeing evading police in a motor vehicle 1st degree, wanton endangerment 1st degree police officer, leaving the scene of a accident, reckless driving, fleeing evading police on foot 2nd degree, and driving without a license. Iames was arrested and lodged in The Adair County Jail by, Deputy Brandon Hitch.
The Adair County Sheriff's Office reports Monday August 27,2018 around 12:07pm central time. Adair County Sheriff Deputy Brandon Hitch was at a location on Carrie Bolin drive attempting to locate a male subject with arrest warrants. When he noticed a male subject setting in a black jeep acting suspicious. When Deputy Hitch approached the vehicle and asked the male to stop he started the vehicle and fled striking another parked vehicle. Deputy Hitch pursued the vehicle and was able to get a visual on it. The vehicle traveled East on Russell Springs Road turning onto Christine Road then traveled to New Concord Road when the vehicle lost control striking a tree. The male subject exited the vehicle and ran a short distance before he was detained.
